New Choral Music for 2025-2026

Image
New Emily Crocker Publications So glad to enjoy another year of friends and music! And happy that I've had a creative year of composing and arranging. Thankful to all my *helpers* who edit, engrave, record, publish and promote my music! (You know who you are!) And especially Jack, who provides hours of entertainment during periods of writer's block!  Africa (TB and piano, Hal Leonard) This one started out as self-published, but Hal Leonard has taken it into their catalog. There are lots of popular arrangements of this Toto hit, but no TB voicing. This one is easy and fun for middle school and up, with a high (cambiata) tenor part.  CLICK HERE Down in the Valley  (TB, with piano an opt. harmonica or other obbligato instrument, Shawnee Press) I've always loved this song, and grateful that Greg Gilpin found a place for it in the Shawnee Press choral catalog. Crafted to be in the vocal sweet spot for range and tessitura, this nostalgic American folk song is arranged for begin...

New Crocker titles on PML It's always exciting to see the new PML additions each year. So much goes into the process, from the submissions by publishers and teachers, to AMAZING work by the committee, to the programming by UIL, the announcements, and finally, the concert performances by mixed, treble and tenor bass ensembles. I'm pleased to announce several new works of mine or my series have been added and I hope that you'll consider them in selecting your UIL programs. For a complete list of Emily Crocker PML titles:  CLICK HERE Tenor-Bass, Grade 2 The French love their onions as you can hear in this French marching song from the 1800s. The verses tell the story (in compound meter) and the refrain helps the marchers stay in step (in duple meter). Impressive sounding and easily learned! Just a very little French to learn, but an excellent showpiece for young tenor-bass ensembles. For TB with piano. Treble, Grade 3 “Winter Eve” takes its text from the poem “Good Hours” by ...

Thank you for visiting this page. In terms of composing and arranging, I’ve had an interesting and rewarding year. Perhaps I have finally acclimated to this stage of life, post-9-to-5 and post choir directing, or maybe I’ve just allowed myself to explore what was always waiting for me. My WHAT'S NEW  page lists everything that is new so feel free to poke about there, but I thought I would put down some thoughts regarding the new directions you may see among these new releases. HAL LEONARD After spending 28 years at the Mother Ship in Milwaukee, I wanted to start with my new Hal Leonard titles. We’re all super excited that Hal Leonard  and Musescore  have joined together for even more distribution opportunities. If you are a Musescore subscriber (and you should be), you’ll already find these titles published there officially and legally for downloading, printing and sharing. These are also available through your favorite traditional retailers as well.  Au Pas, Camarad...

I know lots of you like to plan your concerts over the summer so I hope these new choral works will be of interest. Thanks to the editors, producers, musicians and others who have brought these pieces into physical and digital form!  All print, digital and audio are now available. For these and other titles, visit  Emily Crocker Music J'ai vu le loup This fast-paced French folk song dates back to the medieval era. Many versions of the song exist, and they all feature animals imitating humans by dancing, laughing, and singing. Similar to J'entends le moulin, the persistent rhythm and engaging vocal lines make this an ideal choice for developing diction, precision, and tone in younger singers while exposing them to the French language. 3-Part Mixed and Piano:  More info/purchase 2-Part and piano:  More info/purchase Fire and Ice This poem by Robert Frost reflects on the end of the world, musing whether it might be consumed in fire or ice, and comparing the two elements...
